It supports two main types of transactions: SEPA Credit Transfer (SCT), which allows for one-time bank transfers between European accounts and is typically settled within one business day, and SEPA Direct Debit (SDD), which is used for recurring payments, allowing businesses to collect funds automatically from a customer’s bank account after obtaining a mandate (authorization). Additionally, SEPA Instant Credit Transfers process payments within seconds, providing near real-time transactions across participating banks. All SEPA payments use IBANs (International Bank Account Numbers) to ensure seamless and secure transfers.
